About the PAVA Process: “Practical Action through Visual Approach”
I use my own process, which I call the PAVA Process (mostly so I can remember it). It stands for Practical Action, the self-development part, through Visual Approach, the tarot part.
I’m a big believer that gaining knowledge and insight can help people change their behavior. Some people look at it the other way, and that’s cool, too.
I prefer the thinking and learning part first, because I believe that most people will be more apt to change their behavior or take action if they know why they are changing their behavior and what they want out of the change. The why and the what are revealed through the Visual Approach: the V and the A in the PAVA process. This is the tarot part. It uses the images or pictures on the cards to help people see themselves and their possibilities.
I believe that the Actions we take need to be Practical: the P and the A in the PAVA Process. This is the self-development part. People make their own choices about how they want to change and what they are willing to do. Most experts in human behavior will tell you that changes in small steps are more achievable. Therefore, in my opinion, they are more practical. Besides, the word “practical” fits with my name better.
I hope I haven’t been too confusing. Please see some of my blog posts to learn more about how the PAVA Process can work.
